We Believe…
…in the divine inspiration and infallibility of the Bible as originally given, and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
…that there is only one true and living God, subsisting in the Trinity of three co-equal and co-eternal persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
…in the sovereignty of God in creation, revelation, redemption and judgement.
…in the universal sinfulness and guilt of human nature since the Fall, rendering human beings both unable and unwilling to meet the claims of God’s righteous and holy law, and therefore subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.
…that every human being is accountable to God for his/her deeds, words and thoughts in this life.
…in redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin only through the sacrificial death, as our Representative and Substitute, of Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God.
…in the essential deity, eternal Sonship, and the true and sinless humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ; His virgin birth, crucifixion, death and burial, His physical resurrection and ascension into Heaven.
…it is the work of the Holy Spirit to awaken the sinner to his/her need of forgiveness and salvation. The Holy Spirit regenerates the sinner, granting him/her repentance towards God and bringing him/her to saving faith in Jesus Christ, so that he/she shall never perish but have eternal life.
…in the indwelling and sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit in the believer, and the necessity for holiness as evidence of union with the Saviour.
…in the obligation resting on all Christians to make the Gospel known to all people.
…that The Church is the Body of Christ here on earth embracing all the redeemed, called by God through the Gospel, born of the Holy Spirit and justified by faith.
..Believer’s Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the two ordinances instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ. Baptism does not convey regenerating grace, nor is the Lord’s Supper a sacrifice for sin involving any change in the substance of the bread and wine.
…in the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ; the resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust, when the wicked will go away into everlasting punishment in Hell and the righteous into eternal bliss in Heaven
Such confessions as ‘The Westminster Confession’ and ‘Baptist Confession of 1689’ substantially reflect our doctrinal convictions
